C. Walters
Painter
Acrylic
C. Walters (Courtney Walters) is a Toronto born and raised, self taught artist. Courtney first realized his talents at the young age of seven and has been intrigued with the arts ever since. His art work reflects his appreciation of the beauty within differences. Courtney's art has similarities but he does not confine himself to one style. He explores various forms of art from photography to painting to spoken word and within them various techniques. Courtney truly began to pursue his passion of art after the passing of his father and other challenges he faced in 2010. Through interest and encouragement from friends and loved ones he began to expose his work to more and more people, and in summer of 2012 displayed his work for the first time at the Toronto Loves Kicks' Sneaker Expo. Since then his recognition as an artist has grown and and in January of 2014 he curated his very first solo exhibit "Explore" held at the Moniker Gallery. The knowledge he gained from that experience has lead him to this point and taking on the roll of curator for "The Collective". Courtney's hope is to help other local and talented artists up onto a stage to showcase their crafts and not focus on the obstacles that come with organizing an exhibition such as this. "The Collective" aims to shine a light on some of Toronto's hidden artistic talents.
